We’re so excited to start preparing your chocolates. Every order is packed by hand with great care, using insulated envelopes and ice packs when needed, so your chocolates travel safely and arrive looking (and tasting) their best. Chocolate is delicate, and we take that seriously — from our hands to your door.
How your order is fulfilled
Order placed – Once your order is confirmed, we schedule it for shipment during our weekly shipping window.
Careful packing – Your chocolates are hand-packed, securely wrapped, and protected with insulated mailers and frozen ice packs when weather or destination requires it.
Weekly shipping schedule – Orders ship Monday through Wednesday to ensure delivery before the weekend and to prevent chocolates from sitting in transit and losing freshness or form.
On the way to you – Orders are shipped via UPS, and you’ll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your package is on its way.
Shipping schedule & timing
Orders placed before the weekly cut-off will ship during the current shipping window.
Orders placed after the cut-off will ship the following week.
Pre-order items ship according to the timeline listed in the product description.
Petrova Chocolates does not ship on weekends or holidays. If a holiday affects shipping, your order will ship the next available business day to ensure optimal condition upon arrival.
Warm weather shipping
Chocolate and heat don’t mix. For destinations with temperatures above 70°F, we strongly recommend selecting faster shipping options.
We reserve the right to cancel orders shipping to warm destinations if a service slower than Next Day Air is selected, as melting may occur during transit.
After your chocolates arrive
Please use the tracking number sent to your email to monitor delivery and retrieve your package promptly.
Store chocolates at 55°F–65°F with 50% relative humidity.
For the best experience, we recommend enjoying your chocolates within 14 days of receipt.
If you choose to store your chocolates in refrigerator, we recommend using a Zip-lock bag to keep humidity and smells from other foods around from getting absorbed by your chocolates. For ultimate tasting experience, let chocolates come to room temperature for 30min prior consumption.
Important shipping notes
Each order is packed with the utmost care, including insulated mailers and ice packs during warmer weather or for warm destinations. However, once your package is handed over to the carrier, shipping conditions are beyond our control.
Petrova Chocolates is not responsible for:
Damage caused by inclement weather, melting, or carrier mishandling
Shipping delays caused by the carrier
Lost or stolen packages
Damage after delivery, including animal interference
If you have questions about delivery status or delays, please contact the shipping carrier directly.
Quality concerns
While we’re unable to issue refunds for issues caused by the circumstances above, we truly care about your experience. If something doesn’t seem right, please reach out and let us know what happened — providing an exceptional chocolate experience is always our top priority.
UPS shipping fees & delivery details
Shipping fees are calculated by UPS based on your delivery address, package weight, dimensions, and selected shipping speed. Petrova Chocolates does not determine or control UPS shipping rates and is unable to adjust or modify these fees.
UPS is an independent shipping service - we are unable to provide a specific delivery window, request delivery timeframes, or add special delivery instructions on your behalf to UPS.

We’re excited to offer local delivery for our community in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville! 🍫

How local delivery works
Local delivery is available during store business hours.
Same-day delivery cut-off is 3:00 PM (EST).
Orders placed after 3:00 PM will be delivered the next business day.
On the day of delivery, you’ll receive live tracking for your driver via text message to the phone number provided at checkout, so you can follow your chocolates every step of the way.
Holiday availability
Local delivery is not available on holidays, including:
Christmas Day
Thanksgiving Day
July 4th
New Year’s Eve
If a holiday affects your order, delivery will resume on the next available business day.
