Bipolar 2023

$32.00

Bipolar 2023 is an expressive orange wine from Somló, Hungary, blending 50% Riesling and 50% early-harvest Juhfark. Made from organically farmed, 30+ year-old vines growing in basalt, clay, and sand soils, this is an amber wine with plenty of depth, texture, and personality.

Deep amber with golden highlights, Bipolar opens with intriguing aromas of dried apricot, dried peach, ginger, turmeric, and green peppercorn. On the palate, layers of dried stone fruit and savory spice are balanced by lively acidity and subtle minerality, creating a wine that is both textured and refreshing.

The winemaking is just as distinctive. The grapes undergo wild fermentation on their skins in separate vessels. The Riesling spends four months on its skins in a 900L egg, while the Juhfark is pressed after approximately two weeks and aged partly in barrel and partly in tank. The wines are blended before bottling, bringing together freshness, spice, texture, and earthy complexity.
