Cabernet Franc 2023

$42.00

Cabernet Franc 2023 from Kolonia 52 is a fresh, expressive take on the classic variety, grown organically at the Sentio Organic Estate in Pécsely, Balaton, Hungary. Medium-bodied and naturally vibrant, it brings together juicy dark fruit, tart berries, fresh herbs, and savory spice without the weight or heavy oak often associated with bigger reds.

The nose opens with raspberry, plum, and black cherry, followed by leafy herbs, black pepper, and an intriguing savory note reminiscent of olives. On the palate, dark stone fruit and tart red berries are lifted by fresh acidity, with earthy herbal character and touches of black and cayenne pepper. The finish is long and savory, with lingering herbs, subtle anise, and spice.

Hand-harvested grapes are gently destemmed, with most berries kept whole for partial intracellular fermentation and semi-carbonic maceration in open fermenters. After 10 days, the wine is gently pressed and aged for 11 months in large 400–500L oak barrels, adding texture without overwhelming the fruit. Bottled with nothing added.

Bring It to the Table
