Baša Jantar 2020
Jantar 2020 from Baša Vino is a bold, full-bodied orange wine from Fruška Gora, Serbia, made from 100% Pinot Grigio. Deep copper in color and packed with texture, this is Pinot Grigio transformed into something entirely unexpected—rich, structured, savory, and complex.
The wine opens with layers of dried fruit, nougat, herbs, chocolate, and subtle tobacco. On the palate, fine tannins and mineral depth meet gentle spice, walnut, and a touch of sweetness on the finish. Despite its power and structure, there’s a surprising freshness that keeps the wine balanced and inviting.
The grapes are organically and biodynamically farmed and spend 5–7 days on their skins, followed by an impressive 28–36 months aging in old oak and acacia barrels. Jantar is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added SO₂, so natural sediment is part of the wine’s character. Decanting is recommended.
Bring It to the Table
This is an orange wine that can easily stand alongside richer dishes:

🍄 Wild mushroom risotto
🥩 Beef stew with paprika and spices
🧀 Aged sheep’s milk cheeses
🥜 Walnut-crusted dishes
🥓 Cured meats and rustic charcuterie
Vintage: 2020
Producer: Baša Vino
Grape: 100% Pinot Grigio
Region: Fruška Gora, Serbia
Style: Orange Wine | Full-Bodied
Tasting Notes: Dried fruit, nougat, herbs, chocolate, tobacco, walnut, minerality
About Baša Vino: Bojan and Jelena Baša are part of Serbia’s new generation of natural winemakers, farming a small family vineyard on the slopes of Fruška Gora overlooking the Danube. Their wines are fermented with wild yeast, aged for years in barrel, and bottled with minimal intervention, capturing the distinctive terroir and rich amber-wine tradition of the region.
Powerful, layered, and unmistakably natural. Jantar is orange wine for the red-wine drinker.
