MINIMUM Mavrud 2022
MINIMUM Mavrud 2022 from Dimitar Kostadinov is a rare, full-bodied expression of 100% Mavrud, one of Bulgaria’s signature indigenous grapes. Deep and dense in the glass, this is a rich, concentrated natural red made entirely by hand in a limited production of just 1,000 bottles.
The wine delivers intense aromas of dark fruit, florals, and layered spice. On the palate, concentrated blackberry and plum are balanced by earthy depth and firm yet refined tannins. Powerful and structured without losing elegance, it finishes long with lingering dark fruit and spice.
The grapes are organically farmed, hand-harvested, and meticulously selected, then partially dried in an appassimento-style process to concentrate their flavor. Wild fermentation takes place in open-top barrels with manual punchdowns. The wine is then aged for 40–60 days in glass jars outdoors, protected from direct sunlight, before being bottled entirely by hand without filtration or pumps. Only minimal sulfur is added.
Decanting is recommended to give this concentrated wine time to open up.
