Slobodné Veltlina 2021
Slobodné Veltlina 2021 is a textured expression of 100% Grüner Veltliner from Slovakia, bringing the grape’s signature peppery freshness into a lightly skin-contact style. Medium-bodied and savory, it offers orchard fruit, minerality, and gentle tannic grip without feeling heavy.
The nose shows yellow peach, nectarine, white pepper, cedar, and subtle earthy notes. The palate is fresh and layered, with ripe orchard fruit, Grüner’s characteristic peppery lift, gentle bitterness, and a mineral backbone. A lightly grippy finish adds complexity and keeps the wine food-friendly.
The wine spends several days on its skins before spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. It is aged in acacia barrels and ovoid vessels, with the ovoid aging providing gentle micro-oxidation and added texture without imparting a strong oak flavor. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with nothing added.
